Hockey begins tonight!
Oct. 29, 2006
The 2006–07 Spiders debut tonight at Highland South vs. the Ak Bars. We invite all Spiders fans to come out and cheer us on tonight at 8:50!
It’s the first opportunity to see the full 2006–07 Spiders squad in action. New in a Spiders sweater:
- Brian Armagost
- Brian joins the team through Brad Caron, and debuted with the Spiders in the JMS Tournament in October.
- Michael Armel
- Mike skated with the Spiders in the JMS Tournament in October, and has played with many of the Spiders at JMS and Buzz Hockey.
- Ryan Herman
- Ryan also played in the JMS Tournament in October with the Spiders, and has played with many of the Spiders at JMS and Buzz Hockey.
- Jim Maietta
- Jim joins through Dave Schliesman.
- David Schaefer
- Dave played on the ThunderSpiders this summer, and has skated with many of the Spiders at the Enken Bears and SuperRink Adult Development program.
Welcome everyone!
And we also say goodbye to Spiders who won’t be returning this year:
- Eric Anderson
- Eric will become the full-time goalkeeper for the D2 East Fighting Saints. Eric played backup goalie during the ThunderSpiders summer season, as well as occasionally during Spiders practices. Good luck, Eric!
- Deb Brinkman
- Deb, a member of the Spiders since the Beginner School, will leave the AHA and play for the Lamplighters in WHAM. Good luck, Deb!
- Tim Johanson
- Tim, also a founding member of the Spiders from the Beginner School, will retire from the AHA. Will he be back?
- Lulu Kwan
- Lu, also a member of the Spiders since the Beginner School, will leave the AHA and also play for the Lamplighters in WHAM. Good luck, Lu!
- John “Mad Dog” Rajes
- Mad Dog’s renowned fighting career in the AHA piqued the interested of East Coast scouts this summer. Needless to say, he was offered a lucrative contract, and John couldn’t say no. Look for him this season at Madison Square Garden (well, more likely watching a game than playing for the Rangers). Good luck, John!
Good luck everyone! We’ll miss you!
