ThunderSpiders finish out summer season in second place; lose in first round of playoffs

The Spiders joined up with the Thunder Chickens for a great summer season. Six Spiders (plus one incoming Spider) played in the AHA 2006 summer league on a team comprising Thunder Chickens, along with others, under the moniker “Thunder Spiders.”
The ThunderSpiders played solid hockey throughout the season, finishing in second place during the regular season, with a record of 7–4–0–1. Unfortunately, a strong Hornets club showed up the ThunderSpiders 4–3 in the first round of playoffs, sending the ThunderSpiders back out into the summer heat.
Led by co-captain Bob Jensen, the Spiders on the team included Eric Anderson (who also subbed as goalie for one game), Brad Caron, Carlos Eberhardt, Bruce Gustafson, Jeremy Litton, and incoming Spider for the 2006–07 season, Dave Schaefer.
