Spiders Media Relations on Strike!
Nov. 21, 2007
Fans leaving the Spiders 7–2 loss to the Stars on Wednesday night were forced to cross the Spiders Media Relations picket line.
The Spiders Media Relations group went on strike Thanksgiving Eve at 11:45 p.m. Central time. Sources close to the Media Group reported that disgruntled writers refused to update the statistics on a hallowed eve that remembers the turkey. Jeremy Litton, head sportswriter for the Spiders, was quoted as saying, “if the writers in New York and Hollywood are on strike…then so am I. We should all be at home celebrating the memory of our pilgrim forefathers like Miles Standish, and John Alden…men who truly loved old-time hockey.”
Spiders Captain Bob Jensen was quoted after the game by saying, “we believe a compromise can be reached, we are hopeful that an arbitrator can be engaged on Thanksgiving morning to settle the dispute and have the game stats updated by noon or so on Thanksgiving day.”
