Spiders get ready for the 2022–23 Winter Season

The AHA 2022–23 winter season, the league’s 22nd year and the Spiders’ 19th, gets underway tomorrow.
The Spiders take on the Blade Runners for the first game. It’s your first chance to see the Spiders’ 2022–23 roster, with a few changes since last season.
The Spiders bid a fond farewell to:
Dave Schuster (as was announced in March 2022), Scott Bredael, and goaltender Suzanne Kellogg, all of whom are hanging up the skates due to injury.
We’ll miss them.
And Jon Pappone heads to the IR list for the season, and we wish him a speedy return to the ice.
And a warm welcome to the Spiders:
- Brian Woods
- Tim Johnson
- Goaltender Terry Tucker
- And welcome back to Nick Ungaro, who returns to the AHA after a decade hiatus.
The B2 Spiders also ended up not fielding a team again this season, which means only the C3 Spiders will be wearing the Red and White this fall.
The team captaincy remains unchanged following the usual unanimous single vote (last season) by Dave Schuster: Jeremy Litton as captain, and Eric Grotbeck and Michael Schroeder as alternates.
The rest of the Spiders’ roster remains the same (albeit another year closer to the AARP league eligibility) and is ready to hit the ice to kick off the Spiders’ 19th season in the AHA (18th winter season; 19th including Beginner School), and will look to return to the playoffs for the third consecutive season (after a bit of a drought).
