Buzz beat Spiders 10–2
Feb. 18, 2006
In the first of back-to-back games this weekend, the Spiders lost to the Buzz 10–2 at Richfield Arena tonight. The Spiders were able to capitalize on the time mixup (the game was originally scheduled for 8:30) early in the game, scoring an “empty-net” goal, with the Buzz ’s six skaters on the ice. After that, the Buzz took over, with the final score ending at 10–2.
The two Spiders goals came from center Doug Thorson, one in the first and one in the third.
And yes, the Spiders got back into penalty form, taking three tonight, two of which ended in goals:
- In the second period, Defenseman Brad Caron for hooking.
- In the third, Defenseman Paul LaCosse for interference (glad to see you back in the cooler, Paul — we were worried about you!)
- Also in the third, Right Wing Mike Montgomery, for standing … er, checking.
Of course, for these three, they were all innocent.
