Spiders beat by Royals 10–3
Jan. 29, 2006
In this second matchup between the Spiders and the Royals this season, the Royals ended up getting the better of us, but the Spiders definitely started out strong. We got the lead at 9:46 in the second period on center Dave Schliesman’s second of two unassisted goals of the night. As the second period continued though, fatigue set in and the Royals established a good lead. But overall, we played well, moved the puck well, and — most importantly — had a good time!
Spiders’ Scoring highlights:
- First and second period
- Center Dave Schliesman (playing injured no less!) with two unassisted goals.
- Third period:
- Left wing Bruce Gustafson, from defenseman Carlos Eberhardt and center Doug Thorson.
Surprisingly, resident cooler dweller Paul LaCosse stayed out of the penalty box tonight. He was duly replaced by defenseman Jeremy Litton, who got one penalty at the end of the second period for checking, and one in the third, also for checking. He swears, though, he was innocent.
