Spiders, Lumberjacks knotted at zero
Oct. 1, 2011
Both teams match up evenly in the second game of the Fall Tourney.
The Spiders and Lumberjacks took to the same BIG 1 ice they had been on just last April. The result was slightly different this time, as neither team could solve the goaltending of Fransen or Fee.
Team | GP | W | L | T | P |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Spiders | 2 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 3 |
Nighthawks | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 2 |
Yellow Team | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 2 |
Lumberjacks | 2 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Through 36 minutes of regulation, the score was still 0–0. Since this is AHA tourney play, there is no overtime and each team is awarded a point in the standings.
That point may come into play tonight, as the Spiders take on the Nighthawks in the final game of the round-robin portion of the tourney. In the other afternoon game on BIG 2, the Yellow Team beat the Nighthawks 3–1, giving the Spiders sole possession first place, and the ability to control their own destiny to make it to Sunday’s championship.
Puck drops at a reasonable 10:15 at BIG 1.
