Spiders to skate in 2010 AHA Fall Tourney

The D1 Spiders (and friends) will take the ice in the third annual 2010 AHA Fall Tournament next weekend and try to shake off the usual pre-season rust.
The tournament is a three-game round robin, with a level championship for the best two records. Games are three periods, 12-minute stop time.
The Spiders find themselves in a highly pedigreed Level 4 (D1-equivalent) Pool A, facing three teams with recent championships under their breezer belts. First up, last season’s D1 champs the Chaos, on Friday. Last year, the Spiders went 0–3 against the eventual D1 champions. For Saturday’s matinee, last year’s D2 champions the Puck Hounds. And for the Saturday nightcap, the D1 Nighthawks, the 2009 Fall Tourney’s champs. The Spiders went 2–0 against them last year.
If the Spiders can hold on through those three games, they’ll meet back at BIG for the championship bright and early Sunday.
