TSN reporting Chaos have sealed D1 East

Updated after Wingmen beat Nighthawks 4–3 (with an eight-man bench??) to move Maroons down to seventh place.
The Vegas line at the beginning of the season had the Chaos going all the way, and so far, that bet is still solid. With a narrow 1–0 win Monday night over the Maroons, the Chaos (34 pts.; 17–2) have locked up first place in D1 East, thanks to an 4–3 OT loss by the Fighting Piranhas to the Diablos Monday night. That’s the second OT victory for the Diablos in as many games, who all but lock their third-place ranking with those four points.
The Fighting Piranhas (30 pts.; 14–2–1–1) have sealed second place, with the Diablos (24 pts.; 12–7) then in third for now. The Diablos are assured a playoff spot, but could still mathematically swap to fourth, with just a game remaining.
Still up for grabs is the fourth and final playoff seed. The Fighting Ice Fish, currently holding on to fourth place, have 21 points, and a 10–7–1 record with two games remaining. Hot on the Fish’s tailfin and each with a game in hand, the Spiders, in fifth, and the Wingmen, in sixth (both with 17 pts.; 8–8–1, three games remaining), and the Maroons, knocked back to seventh (16 pts.; 8–9, three games remaining).
Stay tuned, as what potentially amounts to a playoff-deciding game takes place Thursday at Breck between the Spiders and Maroons.
Besides that, the remaining games for contending teams:
- The third-place Diablos will face the Wingmen.
- The fourth-place Fighting Ice Fish will face: Chaos and Spiders.
- The fifth-place Spiders: Maroons, Knights, Fighting Ice Fish.
- The sixth-place Wingmen: Lakers, Fighting Piranhas, Diablos.
- The seventh-place Maroons: Spiders, Nighthawks, Lakers.

To recap the playoff entrance gate:
- Top four teams from each division advance to playoffs.
- Two pools, round robin (three games each).
- Pool Championship (top two records in each pool) Saturday night
- Tier Championship (both Pool Championship winners), Sunday.
So with the Chaos and Piranhas locking up the #1 and #2 seeds, the berthing and playoff schedule begins to fall into place.
The D1 berthing will be organized as:
- Pool A: East #1, West #2 (Fighting Piranhas), West #3, East #4
- Pool B: West #1 (Chaos), East #2, East #3, West #4
