C2 Playoff Picture Becoming Clearer

As the regular season winds down, the C2 playoff pools are nearly set. There’s a lack of drama as all 12 playoff teams are already known with 10 of them locked into their division places and pool assignments. Only the Spiders game against the Renegades on Saturday, April 3rd has any bearing on the C2 playoffs.
The Spiders control their own destiny as they take the C2 North with a win or a tie with 10 or less penalty minutes. The previous two meetings with the Renegades saw the Spiders victorious by scores of 5-0 and 7-1.
Pool pairings will be:
C2 Pool A:
- Bulls (C2 East 1st)
- Sled Dogs/Spiders (C2 North 2nd)
- Beavers (C2 West 3rd)
- Blizzard (C2 East 4th)
C2 Pool B:
- Spiders/Sled Dogs (C2 North 1st)
- Roadrunners (C2 West 2nd)
- Royals (C2 East 3rd)
- Muskies (C2 North 4th)
C2 Pool C:
- Jets (C2 West 1st)
- Aces (C2 East 2nd)
- Warriors (C2 North 3rd)
- Shameonice (C2 West 4th)
If the Spiders win the C2 North division, the playoff schedule would be:
- Tuesday, April 6th vs. Muskies, 8:00pm @ Pleasant
- Thursday, April 8th vs. Royals, 9:30pm @ Augsburg A
- Saturday, April 10th vs. Roadrunners, 10:30am @ BIG 1
If the Spiders take second in the C2 North division, the playoff schedule would be:
- Tuesday, April 6th vs. Beavers, 9:45pm @ Braemar East
- Thursday, April 8th vs. Blizzard, 6:15pm @ BIG 3 (Olympic rink)
- Saturday, April 10th vs. Bulls, 9:00am @ BIG 3 (Olympic rink)
The three pool champions as well as the top pool runner-up then advance to the semi-finals, played at 6:45pm and 7:15pm on Saturday. The C2 championship game is scheduled for 2:00pm on Sunday.
