Strong Play by Spiders, Nets another Win
Nov. 12, 2008
The Spiders hustled, scrapped and scraped to earn a 6-2 victory over Shame On Ice at the Wakota Wednesday night. It might have been the Spiders best performance all year.
Starting with very strong goaltending by Brian Dow stopping 26 shots, the Shame had a hard time seeing the net.
The scoring started with Dave Schliesman flipping a shot over the Shame’s goalie. That was quickly followed by the first of two goals from Brian (D1?) Armagost.
Spiders’ point leader Doug Thorson started the second with another Spider goal and the Spiders took a 4-0 lead. Josh Cagle and Jack Delsing added to the Spider total in the third, to lock in the win.
Strong play by the Stalpes brothers on defense helped in this victory.
The lineup change to include Shawn Tromiczak on forward made for a very difficult time for the Shame. The front office is all but certain to include Tromi in future line ups at the forward position. Spider chat sites have been longing to see Tromi play forward and they finally got their wish.
The Spiders outshot Shame 31-26, in what seemed like an unbalanced game.
