Just under three minutes in 2nd period doomed the Spiders as they fell to the Taz Devils by a 4-3 final.
Joe Long got the Spiders on the board early in the first with the Devils knotting the score with a power play late. The Devils scored three quick goals in the midway through the second to go up 4-1. The Spiders clawed back to 4-3 but couldn’t get the tying goal.
The Spiders were led by Joe Long with two goals and Aaron Bedessem and Jay Hilden each had two assists. Mike Speakman was busy with 34 saves in his last game capably subbing for the Spiders.
