Spiders to host family night and food drive game on February 2nd

For the past couple years, the Spiders have talked about doing a food drive hockey game. This year is different – it’s finally happening!

After a seemingly never ending parade of 9:30pm start times, the AHA schedule makers have seen fit to grace the Spiders a 6:15pm slot on Saturday, February 2nd at St. Louis Park east rink.

The match up with the Beavers is a perfect fit for this special game for several reasons. First, the two teams are very evenly matched as proven in a 1-1 tie earlier this season. Second, the Beavers have some history of participation in these types of special events and are certain to attract a sizable crowd.

So invite friends, family, co-workers, and random hockey fans. As much fun as the “family night” part of the night will be, we’re also trying to support a good cause with a food drive. We are suggesting a donation of two non-perishable food items. Collection bins will be located at the entrance to the rink.

So come on out to watch some hockey, support your friends and family, and support a local food bank!
