In a very competitive game, the Spiders outgunned the Renegades for a 5-0 victory. The win did not come easy as the Spiders were out shot 30-24. While the Spiders were sometimes out hustled, they seemed to capitalize on their scoring opportunities. In addition, the Spiders had superb goaltending by Brian Dow. The Spiders first shutout this year was earned by the net minder.
Here is how the scoring happened. The Spiders captain shuffled some wings and Bruce Gustafson started early with back-to-back goals. The Spiders 3rd goal might have been the finest of the season. Jay Hilden hustled for the puck battling along the boards, finds Aaron Bedessem who feed a waiting Brad Butalla in front of the net for a Spider 3-0 lead. The remaining Spider goals were from Shawn Tromiczak with one shorthanded.
